One month out from the opening of the Sovereign Place Town Centre, the creative duo behind Sovereign Hills’ first homewares store has shared their vision for their new business venture.
Triple Two is Jess and Josh Everingham’s third Hastings business, alongside Customline Joinery and Lakeside Bargains and Homewares.
The business owners, young parents and proud Hastings locals were busy working on their Sovereign Place store fit out – a beautiful mixture of custom timber cabinetry, Blackbutt shelving and neutral V groove panelling – when we stopped by.
It’s set to create a stunning backdrop for Jess’ carefully sourced homewares, clothing and accessories, with the couple determined to create an experience for customers who like to see and touch items before purchasing something special for their home, friends and family or themselves.
Q: Jess and Josh we’re so excited about Sovereign Hills’ first homewares store, can you tell us more about Triple Two?
Expect great priced unique quality gifts, homewares and fashion with no large quantities so stock will be updated on a regular basis. We are aiming for Triple Two to be the store with something for everyone.
Q: We’re seeing bright snippets of colour and quirky accessories coming through on Triple Two’s social accounts. This is clearly more than a homewares store?
Yes, lots of bold patterns in fashion jewellery and clutches, ladies’ clothing in beautiful floral prints, soft pastels in ladies’ footwear, but still a great mix of neutral pieces plus black and whites throughout. Hence the tag line – Home People Life.
Q: The Triple Two business name had us intrigued from the beginning. What does it represent?
We wanted something simple, unique and memorable. We have a manufacturing business in Wauchope – located at 222 High Street – which we will use partly for Triple Two’s warehouse, so we swapped the numerals for letters and added an informative tag line of Home People Life to try and get across that we have something special for everyone, and if we don’t we can try to source or have it manufactured.
Q: Josh has created the beautiful timber cabinetry for Triple Two; how important is getting the store’s look and feel right?
This was one of the most important things for us as we wanted a feeling of comfort with some traditional down-to-earth fixtures and fittings, but with a bit of hygge (a quality of cosiness regarded as a defining character of Danish culture). With the Sovereign Place Town Centre location, we wanted to blend coastal and country together.
Q: Why did you choose the Sovereign Place Town Centre for your third Hastings business?
We wanted to offer something special to the growing Sovereign Hills population and work with the professional team of Lewis Land Group and their high-quality projects.
Q: What’s the best way for people to stay up to date with Triple Two?
We will be open 7 days with extended Christmas trading hours in December. You can follow us on Instagram and Facebook tripletwohpl to stay up to date with new arrivals and our news.
Stay tuned for more details about the Sovereign Place Town Centre grand opening to be revealed soon.
