A desire to create a vibrant and welcoming community space in a growth corridor of Port Macquarie is coming to fruition at Sovereign Hills.

The keynote speaker at today’s Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce breakfast, Lewis Land Group Head of Development Michael Long revealed the vision for Sovereign Hills’ new town centre development Sovereign Place.

“This $100million project will be rolled out in stages over the next six years and will offer the surrounding community and region with an architecturally formed community hub where they can shop, work, come together, enjoy a meal and families can interact,” Mr Long shared.

“The 5,200sqm Stage 1 will feature a Hastings Coop IGA, hardware and liquor offering, a chemist, restaurants and specialty stores.

“The design features enticing landscaped spaces which will capitalise on Port Macquarie’s temperate climate and locals’ love of the outdoors.”

Stage 1 is being constructed by Port Macquarie company Commercial Project Group and will open this November.

Business representatives also received an update on the $500million Sovereign Hills master planned community. Piece by piece this 20-year vision is being woven together by developer Lewis Land Group (LLG).

Sovereign Hills is home to more than 1,200 locals and features a state-of-the-art secondary school, child care, parklands, bushland and regenerated native corridors.

Developer Lewis Land Group has the capacity to produce up to 200 new home sites a year depending on buyer demand. A wide range of affordable registered home sites are available from $199,000.

Future facilities include a community centre, while regional sporting fields boasting a high-performance sports complex are in the planning stage.

Sovereign Hills is located at the junction of the Pacific and Oxley Highways, conveniently close to the expanding Charles Sturt University, Port Macquarie’s future health and education precinct, and Sancrox enterprise and industrial zone.

“Chamber can certainly see the need for a vibrant new town centre development in the fast-growing western areas of Port Macquarie,” commented Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce Executive Officer Mark Wilson.

“As both long term locals and new residents are buying homes in the area at a rapid rate, they obviously require the convenience of local shopping and services nearby, and many local businesses are obviously very keen to benefit from this growth.”
