This month we meet Shelley Spraque - busy mum and home design enthusiast who, along with her husband, has just finished her latest project in The Heritage precinct.‍

Who lives here? Me, my husband Luke and our two children Bronte and Henley.

Can you tell us about your home design inspiration? When I designed my home, I knew that I wanted specific features which were always my non-negotiables. They were the decorative trusses in the living, dining and outdoor area and the high ceilings. A mud room, a kids activity area and a his/her walk-in-robe in the master bedroom. I took inspiration from a number of Instagram pages, but I pretty much came up with my design all on my own. Every little detail of the house and selections are designed and chosen by myself. With my husband being a tiler, I also knew I wanted our house to have a 'different' look with all of my tile selections. I sourced allot of my tiles from outside of the area just to ensure our house was unique in all of its design and features. 

What’s your favourite space in your home? The living and dining area, I often pinch myself that it's my home. The stone feature wall and decorative trusses always make me feel so humbled with how gorgeous they look. 

What do you most enjoy about living at Sovereign Hills? I love the community atmosphere; everyone familiarises themselves with their neighbours and are so friendly. I love that my kids can ride their bikes around the area and walk our dog and feel safe and confident when doing so.
