Over the past 12 months there’s been a seismic shift in the way we view our homes.
They not only need to be functional, but a sanctuary, a home office, classroom and a holiday home.
Enter Pycon Homes and Constructions’ two new display homes in the Sovereign Hills Display Village.
We took a tour of the Bayside and Waratah designs now open on York Street.
Bayside
Combining style and luxury, the 275m2 Hamptons-inspired Bayside design from the renowned Port Macquarie builder offers a haven for your family in 2021 and beyond.
When you enter, your eye immediately wanders down the wide white hallway, lined by wainscoting decorative paneling, through to the lush living area at the home’s rear.
However, you’re first encouraged to take a detour through the child’s retreat to the bedroom wing where three spacious bedrooms, a main bathroom and laundry await.
A private walkway then leads you to a luxurious and softly lit adult’s retreat with VJ Groove wall paneling, stunning pendant lighting, sheer curtains and a coveted dressing room. An ensuite boasts sage cabinetry and marble-look tiles, while a Velux solar powered skylight allows the light to flood in.
“We’ve had lots of feedback about how the light colours, soft textures and wooden tones make it feel like home; they create a calming, comforting and relaxing feel,” shared new home consultant Belina Scaysbrook.
Returning to the living wing, popular barn doors off the hallway open to a designated media room featuring white plantation shutters and custom joinery.
Now it’s finally time to survey the living zone. An inviting galley kitchen with Quantum Quartz ‘Natural Concrete’ benches and splash back, and light timber cabinetry overlook the dining and living area. A butler’s pantry completes the kitchen zone.
“The Quantum Quartz stone sink was custom built to create a luxe feeling in the kitchen,” added Belina.
The living area, with comfortable white furniture and large beach prints, adds to the calming coastal vibe. It flows to the tiled alfresco area overlooking the resort-style pool complete with water features and greenery.
“The integration between the indoors and the outdoors creates that holiday at home feel and allows you to watch the kids in the pool from the living area,” Belina shared.
The Hamptons style is firmly on the radar of aspiring new home owners and renovators. It’s now the most popular façade choice with customers.
“It has moved from a trend to a staple. Every one of our homes has a Hamptons façade option and people are putting their own twist on it.”
Waratah
At 238m2, The Waratah matches contemporary living with affordability. This design features four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a 2-car garage. The Waratah has a contemporary modern vibe with warm wooden tones, brown leather materials and industrial matt black features.
“The Waratah features our most commonly selected upgrades… It’s a great example of combining affordability and all the features you want; a home packed full of value and appeal.
“When people walk in, they can really envision themselves living there.”
The master bedroom suite with a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite greets you on the right as you enter. Moving down the hall, glass barn doors feature at the opening to the media room which includes custom shelving and joinery.
The galley kitchen and island bench overlook the living and dining area which flows freely to the large undercover tiled alfresco. The kitchen’s timber veneer cabinetry provides a warm contrast with the kit kat vertical tile backsplash. A Tasmanian oak shelf beneath the overhead cupboards provides a practical and stylish storage solution.
Three more bedrooms, the main bathroom and laundry are located in a separate wing. Highlights of the main bathroom include the Nevada vanity (a Pycon staple) and stunning Herringbone wall tiling combined with a practical tiled shelf to the shower.
