Port Macquarie’s new centre for business unveiled

The $500 million vision for Port Macquarie’s latest dynamic and modern business, health and retail precinct has been unveiled.

Australia’s oldest private property developer Lewis Land Group (LLG) launched the latest revision to the Sovereign Place Town Centre master plan - showcasing a vibrant environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, A-grade amenities, community-driven green spaces, ample parking, and customised business spaces - to the local business community.

LLG Head of Development Michael Long announced a growing mixed-use precinct and best-in class destination connecting local, regional and national businesses with customers and each other.

The master plan builds on the open-air Stage One Retail precinct, which opened in 2019 and features a supermarket, chemist, cafes and 21 speciality retailers, all set amongst lush greenery, inviting the outdoors in.

“Once complete, Sovereign Place will be approximately 60,000+sqm and one of the Mid North Coast’s largest business centres, nestled amongst a lively town green, lake and community library,” explained Mr Long.

“Work is well advanced on the Sovereign Place Business and Technology Park, with construction of the first building scheduled to commence by mid-2024.”

Future stages are also in the planning and include a health and wellbeing precinct, entertainment and leisure precinct, commercial offices, more mixed-use retail and large format retail.

“Leasing opportunities exist for a range of businesses and services, and medical and allied health services, and we anticipate this precinct will create up to 1,000 local jobs over time,” Mr Long added.

Located midway between Sydney and Brisbane, and Port Macquarie and the Wauchope hinterland region, and with easy access to the Pacific Highway, Sovereign Place draws visitation from a significant geographic area and is perfectly positioned for future growth.

Sovereign Place is part of the $1billion+ Sovereign Hills master planned community. With space for up to 2,000 homes, Sovereign Hills is already a hive of activity with approximately 1,000 homes currently built or under construction.

Combined with the emergence of neighbouring residential estates, significant population growth is projected for the suburb of Thrumster with up 8,000 people expected to call Port Macqurie’s fast growing community home within the next eight years.

LLG has considered multiple aspects of the development to ensure a well-integrated and coordinated approach, including balanced commercial and residential land use, infrastructure, transportation and parking, environment and sustainability, and social needs.
