A light and bright contemporary home featuring a touch of the Hamptons was the brief for Better Homes and Developments’ new Port Macquarie display home.
The Regent 287 design officially opens in the Sovereign Hills Display Village on 1 February, successfully achieving this desired look and feel.
“We tried to present something that offered accommodation for everybody, but also had the ability to be redesigned and changed to suit individual needs,” explained Better Homes and Developments Co-Director Neville Jones.
“We also have a 3-bedroom version – the Regent 209, and we’ve started building a modified version in Sovereign Hills’ Allport Avenue for a client of ours.”
White Linea cladding wraps around the home, which is situated on the corner of Sovereign Drive and Cohen Way, providing street appeal from both angles. Open the chic black front door and you’re presented with a neutral palette of greys and whites, starting with the large tiles underfoot.
The hallway leads you past a media room and spacious master bedroom to the open plan kitchen, dining and living space, which overlooks the tiled undercover alfresco area and garden.
The kitchen features luxurious Essastone benchtops, a marble-look tile splashback and black fittings. A functional butler’s pantry and study nook are neat features. A separate wing features three more bedrooms and a stylish bathroom featuring a raised free-standing tub.
Raised ceilings and plantation shutters add an extra layer of elegance and stay true to the Hamptons’ vibe.
“The idea was to try and create something that if you have all the lights off in the middle of the day it still feels light and bright,” added Neville.
“We tried to style the house so the styling complemented the actual home rather than the other way around. You need to be able to see the quality in the build and for that quality not to be disguised.”
The opening is the climax of the locally owned and operated company’s recent rebrand which includes a fresh logo, updated website, and the expansion of their single and double-storey design range, which will continue to grow over the next six months as new rural and dual-occupancy floorplans are created.
“We’ve upgraded a number of our inclusions across all three levels – Silver, Gold and Platinum. This includes the finishes to your kitchen, your Essastone, the bathroom vanities and vessels, and the general allowances for your tiles. We’ve also improved our entry level inclusions.”
Better Homes and Developments has been building new homes across the Port Macquarie-Hastings region since 1981. The company is steered by three directors; Neville Jones, Greg Hall and John Heagney.
New Home Consultants Bobbi Jones and Tina Madden are geared up for a busy 2018 as the doors open on their first home in a display village environment. During the previous weekend’s soft opening, they welcomed 160 visitors through their new design.
“The volume of traffic will be the biggest thing… We’ve never been a part of something where there’s so many builders, but we think that’s a good thing,” shared Neville. The fact that we have the ability to work directly with the developer on site and the Sovereign Hills sales team, it allows us to have that interaction and easy line of communication.”
The Sovereign Hills Display Village will soon feature 16 stunning home designs from 12 award-winning builders.
