Sovereign Hills’ original residential precinct Barton Ridge is a step closer to welcoming its new neighbours with work starting on a long-awaited area of development.

The first phase of the construction of Barton Heights, a 91-lot precinct overlooking the Sovereign Place Town Centre, is now underway after a development application was approved by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.

Lewis Land Group Senior Development Manager Trent Kelly said the approval signals the return of development to the site of the master planned community’s very first sod turning in 2008.

“Since then, more than 1,000 lots and counting have been sold at Sovereign Hills which has flourished into a demographically diverse, vibrant and active community, traversing both sides of the Oxley Highway,” he shared.

“Interest in the Barton Heights release is strong due to the close proximity to the Sovereign Place Town Centre precinct and St Joseph’s Regional College, as well as the elevation and north-west outlook towards the Hinterland region.”

The 82 lots are also aimed at easing the region’s housing shortage, by providing locals and relocators with more fresh homesites and opportunities to build a new home.

“We can also announce Barton Heights will be the location for the next and fourth Sovereign Hills Display Village, featuring the latest and greatest new home designs from Port Macquarie’s award-winning builders,” Mr Kelly added.

Construction of the Barton Heights precinct is expected to take approximately 12 months with land sales to commence next year.

Sovereign Hills currently has land for sale from $375,000* in our community’s Stirling Green residential precinct, on the southern side of the Oxley Highway.
