If you’ve taken a tour of the Sovereign Hills Display Village you’ve surely noticed the striking modern duplex design, perched on the high side of York Street, from Rob Tate Family Homes. This style of living is growing in popularity according to this Hastings builder, and Focus Magazine ventured behind the Sanremo’s façade to discover more.
When designing a home for your clients what are some of the must dos that Rob Tate Family Homes always factor in? Consultation is the most important – Listen to the needs and accommodate the wants where possible. Keep up to date with designs and trends. We have realised most home builders are not aware of the many advantages that a dual occupancy build can provide – literally two homes for the price of one; providing extra income from renting one of the duplexes or a home for relatives right next door.
Where did the inspiration come from when creating these two display homes and can you tell us what are your favourite features and why? We have realised many prospective purchasers are not aware of the many advantages that a dual occupancy build can provide. We saw the writing on the wall in that higher density living is the future as land becomes more expensive and scarce. We have specialised in this part of the market for the last six years and have become the trendsetter and market leader in this space.
Favourite features of the Sanremo design on York Street include the garden between both duplexes capturing light and a green zone, the extra high ceilings in the living spaces and the very modern contemporary design of the façade.
What advice do you have for those who are looking at building with Rob Tate? Ask lots of questions. Examine the value proposition. Spend time on the design and choose features that meet your needs. Choose a reputable builder with a long history in the region. Rob Tate has been building for 46 years.
Jodi Hiles recently joined the Rob Tate team. Jodi, what are you enjoying most about your new role as Display Home Ambassador? I love being the first point of contact for people and showing them the display home. Hearing about their dreams of what they would like to build and being a part of that process. As I am also currently building, I feel like I can relate on a more personal level, knowing the process of how exciting a new build can be.
What are you looking forward to bringing to the team? I hope that my love of real estate, especially the new build side, and customer communication, will excite prospective new clients to build a new home with Rob Tate.
You can explore the Sanremo duplex design, open 10am – 4pm Wednesday to Sunday in the Sovereign Hills Display Village.
