The birth of her first child proved the catalyst for the Hastings’ Amy Bourke to return to where it all began.
Six months ago, Amy, her partner and their now 18-month old son Xavier returned to the region after starting their careers in Orange, New South Wales.
Seeking a safe and friendly community, the young family has chosen to settle in Sovereign Hills and will start building their first new home this year.
“The area has strong roots for us,” shared Amy. “My sister, brother-in-law and their two kids live five doors up in Sovereign Hills and my parents live in Sancrox.
“When Xavier was born and we were living away it was quite challenging, and having that family support is for us everything. It means we can watch our kids run around and grow up together and have those special moments.”
Easy access to the Pacific Highway was an essential for Amy. A behavioural support clinician, her office is based in Nambucca Heads and living at Sovereign Hills will keep the regular commute to one hour.
Amy and her partner were among the first students to attend the new Charles Sturt University campus at nearby Lake Innes. They’re looking forward to the opening of stage one of the Sovereign Hills town centre at the end of 2019 and are already enjoying the amenities on offer.
“I really like the community itself; everyone is so friendly, the parks aren’t far away, there’s the café with a grass area for Xavier to run around. It feels very family-oriented and safe.”
Amy and her partner have entrusted their new home build in our Stirling Green precinct with Sovereign Hills Display Village builder Adenbrook Homes.
“The home has a beautiful layout with the living area located at the rear of the home opening to the garden.”
Lewis Land Group (LLG) Chief Executive Officer Chris Calvert congratulated the young family on being our 500th lot purchasers.
“In addition to this being a terrific achievement, what pleases us the most are Amy’s reasons for choosing Sovereign Hills because they epitomise what we’re striving to create – a safe and happy environment for families,” Mr Calvert said.
“We want people to feel they belong to an exceptional community.”
