Lewis Land Group has pledged its support for a vital Port Macquarie service dedicated to helping women and children who have experienced violence through all stages of their journey towards safety.
Liberty Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Services relies on the generosity of the local community and business support to help meet the growing demand for assistance.
LLG has provided a $20,000 boost to the service at a time when Liberty is experiencing record numbers of referrals.
“Domestic and family violence is a serious issue across our community. We hope this donation helps more survivors receive the support they need to recover and rebuild their lives,” Lewis Land Group Chief Executive Officer Matthew McCarron said.
“We also acknowledge the tireless efforts of the hardworking Liberty team to ensure women and children don’t feel like they have to face domestic violence alone.”
Liberty provides a range of support services, including safety planning, legal advocacy, and access to resources such as housing, healthcare and financial support.
“This generous donation has been assisting us with our ongoing work supporting local women and children who have experienced domestic and family violence. Our support for children in particular includes our Kids Club after-school program for children aged 7 to 11, offering child-focused support and brokerage funding for families to enable them to afford the costs of school equipment, uniforms and excursions,” shared Liberty’s CEO Kelly Lamb.
“From helping a woman in the peak of crisis secure a safe place to stay, through to supporting her as she navigates the help available, Liberty is also working towards eliminating domestic and family violence by providing prevention and education programs in the local community including local schools.”
