Sovereign Hills is hosting a free seminar focusing on the upside to downsizing and you’re invited.


Whether you’re considering downsizing your home or just curious about the process, join us on Wednesday 31 July at 5:30pm at the Port Macquarie Golf Club as we discuss the ins and outs of this often momentous step.

Luminosity Youth Summit


Up to 350 young people between the ages of 15 – 25 will descend on Port Macquarie’s Glasshouse and Rydges over three days for the 7th Luminosity Youth Summit – inspiring youth leadership and excellence.


The summit is a dynamic program of workshops and keynotes featuring creatives, scientists, business professionals and even a magician, sharing their stories. The theme for the summit is Dangerous Ideas encompassing  Compassion, Vision and Innovation.

FREE Finance Q&A Session


The significant changes in the home lending sector will be the focus of a free finance Q&A in Port Macquarie.


The Sovereign Hills Display Village is inviting first home buyers, families, investors and downsizers to come along and learn what these changes mean for you when planning your new home.


An experienced panel of finance experts has been enlisted for the event on Tuesday 11 June at 5:30pm at Sails Resort.


Prompted by your questions, they will share their knowledge and expertise regarding the impact of the Banking Royal Commission, the federal election and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority’s (APRA) flagged easing of the home loan rules.

ArtWalk 2019 is set to light up Port Macquarie.


An edgy, intense and surprising night of discovery, ArtWalk illuminates secret, unassuming and unexpected spaces with free pop up performances, artistic interventions and creative installations in Port Macquarie’s CBD on Thursday 18 July from 6-9pm.


Streets, intersections, cafes and cultural facilities will become the stage for contemporary works as artists and creative expressionists push the boundaries of their practice.


Experience ArtWalk and participate in other creative activities throughout the weekend.

Mother’s Day Classic


Registrations are now open for the 2019 Mother’s Day Classic and organisers are inviting people to make Mother’s Day mean more this year.


Now in its 5th year in Port Macquarie, the 5km fun run and walk event empowers locals of all ages to come together as a community, to raise awareness of breast cancer and funds for research.


The annual event is held around Australia and involves more than 100,000 participants nationally.


The Port Macquarie event will be held on Sunday 12 May at Westport Park between 8:15am and 11am and will feature refreshments, breakfast food stalls, entertainment, jumping castle for kids, and more. More information is available here.

Between the Vines


The Inaugural Between the Vines is bringing together fine motoring enthusiasts and car clubs to Port Macquarie’s Cassegrain Wines for the Australia Day weekend.


With burgers, wines, beers, ciders and live music to set the mood.  Cassegrains has a capacity of 450+ cars and 150 motorbikes.


You’re invited to bring your crew and fill their paddock and vines with the finest!


It’s $10 per car and 50% will go to Rural Aid to support Aussie farmers.

Oysters in the Vines


Pack your picnic rug and prepare for a  day of wining, dining and relaxation in the picturesque Cassegrain Wines vineyard.


The annual ‘Oysters in the Vines’ festival combines oysters and fine wine, with live music in their beautiful grounds.


Oyster lovers can indulge as they taste their way through a range of oysters from local and regional suppliers, washed down by local beer and Cassegrain’s award-winning wines.


The festival will also feature kid’s entertainment plus a huge line up of family-friendly activities.

Countdown to Christmas parade


Don your Santa hat, reindeer antlers and join in Port Macquarie’s festive fun with your family and friends.


The action kicks off with a mascots race along Horton Street, and local community groups and residents can take part in the Christmas street parade with Santa.


Catch the onstage entertainment on the Town Green from 5:30pm before the lighting of the CBD Christmas tree and fireworks at 8pm.

Sovereign Hills community movie night


Join your neighbours and Santa at this FREE Sovereign Hills community event in the College Rise parkland.

This year we’re screening the Disney/Pixar musical adventure film and Academy Award winner COCO.

All the action gets underway from 5:30pm on Friday 30 November.

Enjoy a fun family movie plus face painting, ice cream, popcorn and gold coin sausage sizzle.

Archibald prize regional tour


The 2017 Archibald Prize will bring its roadshow gallery of winning portraiture to the Glasshouse on 24 August.


The Archibald is Australia’s foremost portraiture prize and over the years it has become a who’s who of Australian culture – from politicians to celebrities, sporting heroes to artists.


The Archibald Prize awards $100,000 prize money to the winning artist.


The regional tour will be on display in Port Macquarie until 7 October at the Glasshouse.

Wildwood Music Festival


Nestled within the trees of Cassegrain – find your groove soaking up some of the best of our  Australian music scene!


The Annual Wildwood Music Festival is back.  Promoting the biggest and most diverse line-up yet, this year will no doubt be the BIGGEST ever!

The Port Macquarie Racecourse comes alive on Friday 5 October with the Carlton Draught Port Macquarie Cup Day.


It’s a chance to dress up, sip champagne and enjoy the racing track side, with the spectator event Fashions on the Field featuring the region’s best dressed.

Port Macquarie bicentenary celebrations


Our region’s bicentenary commemorates 200 years since John Oxley and his team of 15 explorers traversed the mountains, surveying our region for early European settlement.


It also recognises the traditional custodians of the land, the Birpai people.


To commemorate the history, heritage and people who have made our region what it is today, a flagship bicentenary celebration will take place between 11am and 5pm on Sunday 28 October.


The event 200 Together: An Exploration Through Time, will provide an opportunity to immerse ourselves in stories from the past, amidst a picnic setting on the Port Macquarie Town Green.

Festival of the Sun


Celebrating its 15th year in December 2018, Festival of the Sun (FOTSUN) returns to the Port Macquarie Breakwall Tourist Park over three days in December (13 – 15th).


Festival of the Sun is Port Macquarie’s flagship live music event bringing in the summer with some great live Aussie and International bands, tasty markets and three days of camping in the sun next to the beach.

Luminosity Youth Summit

Timbertown Annual Steam Fair


Warm up this winter with Timbertown’s steam fair – a fantastic time to enjoy heritage steam, log fires, and fresh hot damper.


Featuring miniature road steam engines, hot air and oil engines, steam boats and rare trade demonstrations, the fair runs from 7 to 9 July. Attractions also include the damper camp and three days of live music.

Sovereign Hills’ Residents Easter Egg Hunt


Hop on over to Sovereign Hills’ new park in our Stirling Green precinct this Easter Saturday for some family fun.


At 9:30am we’re hosting an Easter egg hunt and the Easter bunny will make a special appearance. There will also be face painting and Easter basket making for the little ones.


Don’t be late, the eggs won’t last long. The action can be found on Litchfield Parkway, Sovereign Hills, Port Macquarie.

Wauchope Lasiandra Festival


The Annual Lasiandra Festival kicked off on 5 March, promising a month full of community events.


The first Lasiandra Festival was held in 1984 and it has continued annually since then, always taking place from the second Saturday in March to coincide with the floral spectacular of the lasiandra in bloom.


The festival is run entirely by volunteers and proceeds from the festival are used for the promotion and beautification of Wauchope. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, so check out what’s planned here!

Twilight Tastings


A celebration of local beer, wine and food will be on the menu when Hastings Co-op presents Twilight Tastings at the Wauchope Showground.


Showcasing the region’s talented producers, the event offers tastings, farmers market stalls, live music and children’s entertainment.


Delights will range from organic chocolates, Meltique Beef and local strawberries and cheeses to boutique beers and award-winning wines.


Gates open at 5pm and entry is $5 for adults and free for children under 18.

February 11

Grape Stomping Championships


The 20th Annual Grape Stomping Championships are on at Bago Winery.


Gates open at 10am with BK Blue kicking off the live music entertainment at 11am. The stomp will commence at midday with the media round up, followed by the public stomp competition. Visitors can pack a picnic, choose from the seasonal menu, or visit the Tunstead oyster tent for some freshly shucked oysters, washed down with a Bago wine or Black Duck Beer.

Wauchope Show


Promoting agriculture and farming within the district, the Wauchope Show offers a great day out and something for everyone.


Featuring the traditional horse, cattle, poultry, goat and hall sections along with the sideshow rides, the Wauchope Showgrounds will come alive over two days as this important community event – now in its 108th year – takes place.


Thousands of people are expected to attend and view the best produce the region has to offer, as well as the wood chop, animal nursery, harness racing and fireworks.

Junior State Cup

The premier NSW Touch Football junior representative event returns to Port Macquarie.


The world’s largest weekend touch football competition is expected to draw more than 300 teams, and bring around 12,000 competitors and spectators to the Hastings.


Sovereign Hills is proud to sponsor the Port Macquarie representative sides and the many volunteers who make this incredible event possible.


The action runs from Friday 16 – Sunday 18 February.

If you’re after the freshest locally-grown ingredients for your Christmas table, do not miss the last Wauchope Farmers Market of the year.


Think traditional sourdough breads and pastries, handmade cheeses and chocolates, organic macadamias and fresh fruit and veg.


It’s all happening at the Wauchope Showgrounds from 8am – 12pm.

Oysters in the Vines

Oysters and wine – they’re a match made in heaven, and both will be in plentiful supply when Port Macquarie’s Cassegrain Winery hosts the annual Oysters in the Vines.


Now in its 13th year, the event is synonymous with the freshest local oysters and gourmet produce. Experience an oyster and wine matching masterclass. There will be activities for the kids and entry is free (10am – 4pm).

Christmas Movie Night

Sovereign Hills residents make sure this one is in your diary!


Bring along your picnic rug and join us next Saturday 25 Nov at 6:30pm at Joeys Meadow ‘College Rise’ for this free special screening of Trolls.

Festival of the Sun

The stars have aligned for Port Macquarie’s flagship live music festival (FOTSUN) and this year’s ‘Outer Space Edition’!


This popular three-day festival kicks off on Thursday 7 Dec at the Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park.


A stellar line up of Aussie and international bands will take to the stage, with markets, art workshops and three days of beachside camping to add to the fun.
